Daring Dad 2008 up for Harlow Herald Award

The Harvey Centre's thoughts and best wishes were with Eric Rogers and his family as they attended the Harlow Herald's first ever Community Awards on Thursday February 25th.

Eric was nominated as Parent of the Year and made the shortlist of three finalists and while he wasn't named the eventual 'Parent of the Year', he was  utterly delighted to have been nominated.


He said, "It was a real honour and privilege to be among so many local heroes last night. From a 10 year old boy who teaches sport to people with special needs, to a 93 year old man who abseiled down the Harlow water tower for charity. There were firemen, nurses, volunteers, teachers, doctors, charity fund raisers and many other people who have really made the different to others. Really inspirational stuff and certainly humbling."

You will recall that last year Eric undertook a week of Daring Dad Challenges and raised over £600 for PACT Harlow and Accuro and while he didn't come away with the title, we are sure you will agree Eric is a very special Dad and it has been a delight to follow his success.
