Gorgeous bridesmaid and page boy enjoy the catwalk limelight at Harvey Centre Wedding Fair

Last Saturday 12th May saw the return of the Wedding Fair to the Harvey Centre in Harlow and it was bigger, bolder and certainly more spectacular than last year. However the limelight was stolen from the glamorous models and their spectacular dresses by their little bridesmaids and page boys, especially Mae and Harvey.

Not that any of the 'brides' or other bridesmaids and page boys seemed concerned. Indeed the whole event was just as anyone would like their own wedding to run – glamorous, gorgeous dresses, beautiful brides, a spectacular atmosphere, stunning showpiece setting and admiring family and friends enjoying the moment.

Catwalk fashions were supplied by the ladies from D&Q Weddings who teamed up with Legends, Superdrug and H Samuel and also JP's Hair and Beauty who worked with Kodo, Marks & Spencer and H Samuel to supply some serious glitz and glamour to the event. Over twenty gorgeous gowns, from ballgown, princess and fishtail style, to sweetheart, strapless and drop-waisted bodices in a variety of fabrics including taffeta, tulle, lace and organza were paraded to admiring audiences. There were even some 'cathedral' and 'chapel' length trains in the showcase with bridesmaids and page boys in stylish attendance.

In addition to the Catwalk shows which showcased the fashions there were stalls from a range of other wedding providers, including Marks & Spencer and Bhs who both exhibited their bridesmaid ranges and wedding accessories, wedding stationery and confectionery. Some serious 'bling' was exhibited by staff from Charles Fish Boutique which also had its grand opening at the weekend, and staff from H Samuel enjoyed chatting to customers about the pieces exhibited on the catwalk.

There were bridal hair demonstrations from staff from Legends and JP's Hair and Beauty who also did their brides' makeup for the catwalk shows. Of course no Wedding is complete without a show-stopping cake and the fair was no different, with Centre store Munchies Cakes showing off some fanastic creations, including an on-trend Cath Kidston-inspired cake and a tower of cupcakes. Similarly the team from Thomas Cook was on hand to give inspiration and advice on Honeymoon venues and Changing Rooms' staff brought a huge range of fantastic wedding gifts to delight potential guests as well as the happy couple! Every wedding needs a venue and Hunter's Meet were also on hand to assist with planning for the big day.

Harvey Centre Manager Bryan Young said, "Last weekend was a huge event for the Centre and we were delighted to welcome so many excited couples, friends and families to the Centre to our Wedding Fair. We were so pleased that, following our extensive recent refurbishment works, the Centre was able to stage a spectacular show, especially as we were able to incorporate a stunning light tree and talented local harpist into the staging of the event which added another layer of sophistication to the event.

"Our thanks go out to our fantastic retailers, staff and suppliers who worked so hard to put such a fantastic event together. We look forward to next year's!"
