The Harvey Shopping Centre has successfully retained its Safer Parking Award following the recent re-assessment by Heather Gurden (Essex Police Accredited Assessor) and Mike Bibby (Development Manager – South East).  This will be the Centre's thirteenth year in the scheme in one form or the other (previously known as The Secured Car Parks Scheme) and is a record to be proud of.

Over the past twelve months with an annual vehicle throughput of some 660,000, only six relevant incidents had been recorded which equates to the likelihood of becoming a victim of crime as 1:110,000 – an excellent achievement. Over the years the centre has been accredited, any incidents have always remained in single figures and is a testament to the efforts made by the security team. Management Practices are of a very good standard, together with good lighting, electronic surveillance, regular patrols completed and the facility kept clean.

Mike Bibby said, "The Harvey Centre is a very good example of a parking facility attached to a shopping centre where customers can be confident their safety and that of their vehicles is well catered for. I have been working with the management for twelve years now and they are very conscientious as to their approach, resulting in the standards being maintained for the award to continue for all these years. I would like to congratulate all personnel involved for this excellent achievement, as this is not an easy task for them."
