Thorntons to put a smile on customers' faces during Chocolate Week

Thorntons, Britain's largest chocolate company, is continuing its Centenary celebrations this year by giving away free chocolate smiles during Chocolate Week (October 10th-16th). Every customer who goes into a Thorntons shop will be offered a milk chocolate button with a smiley face on, as a way of celebrating its birthday with its customers.
A collection of products have been launch for Thorntons Centenary year, which are available in stores and online until Christmas. Thorntons Master Chocolatier, Keith Hurdman, has created an exclusive limited edition Wonder box with a mix of heritage recipe and contemporary chocolates, and featuring three of Keith's Academy of Chocolate award-winning chocolates. This £100 presentation box of handmade chocolates, created with high percentage chocolate, includes flavours such as caramel, nougatine gianduja, lime & chilli and raspberry & rose. Only 100 boxes will be sold via www.thorntons.co.uk, offering true chocolate connoisseurs the chance to own a rare piece of Thornton’s history.
Another highlight of the Centenary collection is the Limited Edition Bakewell Tart Chocolate Block, the latest edition to the award-winning Chocolate Block range. Created by adding raspberry powder to almond-flavour Costa Rica milk chocolate, with biscuit pieces add to it to give the crunch of shortcrust pastry, it truly does recreate the taste of the traditional pudding in chocolate form. Available in store and online for £1.79.
Top chocolate blog chocablog.com says about the Bakewell Tart Chocolate Block: "Keith Hurdman has somehow managed to squeeze all the flavour, aroma and texture of an authentic Bakewell Tart into a bar of chocolate."
As a partner of Chocolate Week, Thorntons will be exhibiting at this year’s Chocolate Unwrapped (October 15th-16th), a dedicated chocolate exhibition held at Vinopolis, London during Chocolate Week. Keith will be presenting a tasting session at the show, exploring the Centenary flavours.
Thorntons is continuing its 100th birthday celebrations in stores with staff throughout Chocolate Week and is continuing fundraising activities for its charity of the year, the NSPCC.
