Bank Holiday Bingo winners go shopping

The winners of the Harvey Centre's inaugural Bank Holiday Bingo met up last week when they visited the Centre to collect their goodies!

The Centre ran its event on Monday 30th May, offering shoppers who visited the Centre on the day something extra special. Shoppers were encouraged to check out everything that the Centre has to offer, from traditional table-top to electronic games, to chocolates, cards, ideas and inspiration from the variety stores and ladies fashion.

Shoppers visited the nine nominated stores in the Centre (Thorntons, Robert Dyas, Superdrug, Wilkinson, Clinton Cards, Poundland, Marquee Models, La Senza and Gamestation) and when they completed their purchase at the till, received a stamp on their bingo card. There was no minimum purchase and shoppers were able to find trinkets and gifts for all the family at the great value stores that took part. Then, when they had filled in the number of lines they wanted to play, customers took the card to the team on the mall and handed it into their care for the overall prize draw.

The lucky winner of the £1000 shopping spree first prize was 19-year old Ashleigh Newton of Harlow, who is currently in her final year studying business at Harlow College. Ashleigh also has two part-time jobs and hopes to go onto the University of Canterbury to study marketing. She attended the Centre with her mother and sisters who were delighted by her good fortune! Ashleigh chose to receive vouchers from Thomas Cook, Gamestation, Tesco, Soletrader, Superdrug and La Senza and we understand she is off to spend three weeks with her friends in Ibiza this summer – let's hope the shopping helps!

The winner of the £250 spree was Krystyna Baranowska, 34 also of Harlow and she brought her 7-year old son Timothy along to meet Centre Operations Manager, Simon Plumb and pick up her goodies. Krystyna and Timothy were delighted with their win; it had been Timothy's idea to enter and as a special reward his mother decided to surprise him with vouchers from Game – we hope they enjoy their Xbox 360 Kinect!
