Wilkinson, the family run business, re-opened its doors to the residents of Harlow this morning, having received a fresh new look.

It was all part of the company’s nationwide initiative to invest in local towns and refresh existing stores throughout the UK.

Joining in the celebrations today was club captain of Harlow Town FC, Leo Roget and Georgina Twedell, the club’s Youth Development Officer. The pair officially cut the ribbon, alongside the store manager, Keith Rogers, and Wilkinson’s Head of Retail, Simon Hathway.

Shoppers and residents were invited to meet Leo Roget and Georgina Twedell and join them in a showcase of ‘ball skills’.

A group of school children from Hare Street Primary were amongst the visitors. Their visit comes after Wilkinson partnered with the local primary, to donate a range of gardening and “Grow your Own” products and equipment. Pupils from each class will now be able to “grow their own” fruit and vegetables in the school’s recently designed raised beds.

Much hype was created amongst local residents, as they came to see the new look Wilkinsons on opening day, but the fun doesn’t stop. This weekend the store is holding a “Family Fun Day” on Saturday 12th February, featuring a free face painter for local children.

Store manager, Keith Rogers, commented, “I am delighted with the store’s new look, it’s a total transformation! We were extremely happy to welcome pupils from Hare Street Primary School and Leo Roget and Georgina Twedell from Harlow Football Club to the launch this morning. It’s been a really fun day and I hope Harlow shoppers are impressed”.

Bryan Young, from the Harvey Shopping Centre says: "We are delighted to see the new look Wilkinson store launch today. The store already has a strong loyal following, thanks to its great quality products and choice, all at fantastic prices. We know even more shoppers will seek out the store thanks to its face-lift and we look forward to welcoming them to the Harvey Shopping Centre."

Customers were also given the chance to win a Wilkinson product ‘hamper’ in a raffle, with the proceeds going to the Wilkinson’s charity of the year, Anthony Nolan. The Anthony Nolan charity finds matches for leukemia patients who are in need of a lifesaving transplant.

Since its launch over 80 years ago, Wilkinson has remained committed to saving the nation money and promising great quality products. The business has steadily built up a reputation over the years for innovating and launching new exciting products that meet customers’ needs. Whether its decorating tools, garden seeds and furniture, fashionable home accessories or beauty and toiletries ‘must haves’, it’s almost a guarantee that Wilkinson stocks it and has an attractive price tag to match.
